Located in the heart of Burleigh Heads, Davey Constructions’ Sundream project feels like the perfect ode to its natural surroundings.

The name ‘Sundream’ was inspired by the well-known feel-good song by Australian artist, Rufus Du Sol, and an aptly fitting title it is. The natural light that floods through and transforms the home throughout the day creates an unrivalled sense of warmth and calm. The morning sun first filters in to create a beautiful airy and bright atmosphere. Then as the day goes on, the home dances with varying hues, until the sunset casts a soul-warming amber glow across the space.

The two-story home boasts a U-shaped structure that wraps around the holiday-esque pool area, which acts as the central focal point of the home. Pool views from every room in the home allow the residents to completely surrender to the coastal lifestyle.

Moving inside, Sundream’s first floor is home to an open plan kitchen, entry, alfresco and main living area that is all set under a striking high raked ceiling. The grand kitchen space connects seamlessly to the North-facing alfresco area with wall-to-wall bifold doors, that help to create an even greater sense of scale & space in the heart of the home. The hero alfresco area features exposed timber rafters along the raked ceiling, crazy pave stone flooring and unrivalled views of the iconic Norfolk pines that make up the Burleigh skyline.

Throughout the home, a strong connection to the natural world can also be felt through the use of expansive glass and natural elements throughout. As part of the project’s vision to give back to the local area, most of the products used in the home were thoughtfully sourced from local businesses. These include materials such as the opulent terrazzo and brass fixtures, as well as the complimentary blackbutt timber vanities, concrete basins, and stone cladding used throughout. All of which combine to create a grounding and relaxed atmosphere that reverberates with the idyllic Burleigh Heads setting.
